They are not to be sold illegally though as they are listed among the endangered species.

Their standard lifespan is usually 30 to 50 years but if taken care of properly, they reach up to 70 years old. However, Blue and Gold Macaw matures fast and become ready for mating in as early as three years old. During this season, the Blue and Gold Macaw can be pretty aggressive.
